Teleki Castle, located in Luna de Jos, Cluj county, was built between 1650-1700 by the Transylvanian noble family Teleki.
Construction of the castle began in the second part of the 17th century and was completed in 1700 by Pál Teleki (1677-1731), a philanthropist and supporter of Francisc Rakoczi II in the Kurut War.
In retaliation for supporting Rakoczi, the imperial army destroys the building. Only the southern hunting tower, about 35 m high, and part of the park survive from the old castle. The rest of the castle was demolished by order of the Austrian Emperor after 1700.
